A stunning piece of history approached by a longish flat causeway to a moorish style castle that dominates the front of the harbour. Great for photography against the ocean and sunlight and all free entry... beautiful Cadiz!

A good tale from the past always piques our interest and our guide told us about the 1457 plague-diseased Venetian ship that was forced to stay here while healing (as hey actually did, the story goes). They built a little hermitage here and named it...More

The castle is closed for causeway renovation.... unknown completion date. It might be possible to get there by crossing the beach at low tide.

It's located close to the beach. You can go there to make fantastic photos. Entrance is for free. Inside you can find art galllery with very nice painter.

When we visited there were a couple of art exhibitions there. You are free to walk around and you can imagine why it was built to protect the harbour.

A walk to this place was (and is) highly recommended, especially to see the sunset. Lovely sandy beaches either side.

I was there in April and yes it was closed. Even more annoying, they also closed the promenade so you could not walk out to get the view of the city. We ended up going to Castillo de Santa Katarina, very close, which was... More

No. But there are lots of restaurants in the Old Town with cold beer and great tapas.
