It seems like a small museum, but you can easily spend 1.5 hours there. The main thing that makes it worth visiting is the incredible scale model of Cádiz from the 18th century. It also contains lots of paintings, maps, guns and other interesting paraphernalia...More

Archaeological exhibits downstairs and painting upstairs. Good routes through chronologically and by theme.

Great architecture, well presented displays, even a painting of the English burning Cadiz, this museum is an excellent guide to the Liberal constitution of 1812 and its aftermath.

The scale model of the 1770 town was a real gem. It opened a really interesting point of view to the history of Cadiz. This was an oldfashioned museum, in the good way. Very interesting and informative.

Another free museum! All descriptions of items on display translated into English which in Cadiz is unusual and makes the visit even more enjoyable. Well worth visiting.

Dropped in passing by and were pleasantly surprised. The scale model of the City is magnificent built in the 1770s. Keep an eye open for the small display case with a model of HMS Victory commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar nearby, and we all know...More

We enjoyed our visit here, primarily because they had so much in English - every painting, every exhibit , had something about it in English, unlike some of our recent experiences in Spanish museums. This meant that we were able to understand some of the...More

Gave a good impression of Cadiz as it was and its relevance to the history of Spain. On one floor there was a model of the city which had been made at least 100 years ago and now restored. Lots of sea charts of the...More
