This beach was the favourite of our stay. As you head east from the port you first pass St Andre beach but keep going for about another kilometre and you reach the quieter and better playa de la Misericordia. We got there via a 5 minute taxi from The estacion Maria Zambrano for less than €5. The beach is clean, the water lovely and gently shelving making it great for children. There is a lifeguard, lots of cafes, showers, children's playgrounds dotted along the stretch and you regularly will find drinks sellers with cold water, soft drinks and beers. The chimney is an interesting feature. All in all a lovely beach just a couple of kilometres from Malaga town centre.

Long beach near Malaga running south from the port towards the Guadalhorca estuary. Certainly not the best beach around; it's next to the old commercial, industrial area of the city. Not swept and covered in rubbish. Maybe they don't do the usual maintenance off-season. Probably better beach in the summer.

This was the first stop we made during our trip in Andalusia. The location is a bit far from the city centre. There is no people walking on the beach but everybody was walking or jogging on the boulevard. You can find restaurants at this area. The parakeet were busy collecting twigs for building their nest. There is also an old chimney on the beach.

I loved it. It was windy on the 15th of sep 2017 between 1-4pm ; but much better after 4pm. Less and smaller waves. Water is clean, sandy bottom. It was cold but you get used to.

Nice small restaurants along the beach.
It was so quite, peaceful. There were maybe 30-40 people in maybe 100-150m vicinity. All ages.
Respectful people, no bothering. People minded their own business.

The beach and sands were golden and so clean, no garbage. I saw only 1 cigarette butt. I am soo picky about that, trust me I looked. I was so happy pushing my toes into the sand and I even smelled the sand 😁when I was lying down. I want to go again asap.

We walked from the centre of Malaga to the Guadalhorce nature reserve. The promenade is pleasant but the beach was mucky with washed-up detritus, especially used sanitary products. I presume it's cleaner in summer. There are some restaurants, mainly serving fish. Vegetarians will find it hard to eat here. I recommend the Malagueta beach at the other side of town over Misericordia. However, there are free toilets along the beach. The Guadalhorce estuary isn't pretty, but if your a dedicated birder it has some appeal.

We got off at the Victoria Kent train station to visit the automobile museum (we rated that 2/5) and wanted to drop by a beach afterward. This beach seemed more for the locals than tourists, not many restaurants near by - one or two plus Burger King. The sand wasn't very nice and there was a good bit of rubbish around.

Very nice and beautiful beach. Mainly locals at this beach, it hasn't got all the usual tourist rip off places like Malagueta. Water was clean and no medusas :)

A little difficult to access. She nevertheless remains nice enough to share a moment with friends. It is recognizable thanks to an old fireplace that has remained there and gives a cachet.

Good beach to go with children, is sandy, has many services (parks, bathrooms, parasols,...)
It is a big beach so that even if there are many people you can have "your space"

As a lousy beach, it has no sand was pressed soil which until reaching the water was very unpleasant.
The only positive is the offer of chiringuitos and the proximity to an urban road a few meters away.
