On the way to the Alhambra an old man told us the Carmen de Los martires garden were prettier and I can't say it was wrong yet it is a charming place that goes toe to toe in history with the Alabama itself.

Stunning views and beautifully kept gardens full of history. We were lucky with perfect weather not too hot!

We visited the Alhambra complex including the Generalife with a private guide on a beautiful and sunny day in April. We learned all about the gardens including the fact that the current configuration dates only to the 1930’s. This in no way diminishes their serenity...More

The most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. No comparison. Take lots of selfies here. Can't imagine how the Moors engineered to run irrigation up the hilly terrain.

I love a splashing fountain. However, as the guide explained such splashiness would have been too disturbing for the Emir to muse and meditate. So in the 10th century, he would have seen too it that there was a more controlled, serene flow, just enough...More

You must book your tickets in advance, it is a very unique place to visit and although the suggested time is 4 hours we spent 5 hours there and could have spent longer.

We had done the Alhambra on a previous visit but wanted to see the gardens. They are not huge and it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Lovely gardens which can be appreciated even if gardening is not your thing.

Be sure to do a tour of the Alhambra as well as the Generalife. Sometimes access to only one site is included in entry prices. The gardens and the history of this place is a must-see.

Great gardens, great views to the Alhambra Palace. Best time to visit late April - late May. We were a little early, not that many flowers / tree blossoming in early April-

You can pay only for the Gardens, but the whole ticket (around 15€) include the gardens, the Nasrid Palaces (Palacios Nazaríes) and the Generalife, too. It is really worthwhile.

Further: The citrus trees may have fruit but the likelihood of flowers would be low HOWEVER you can certainly expect to be able to enjoy the Alhambra and Generalife with less crowds so you will be able to see the buildings... More

Hello, I was there again in April 2017 and the beds were in full bloom so nothing to worry about if April is your choice.
