As I was strolling through the winding streets of Granada I came across this charming restaurant just as I was thinking of lunch. They had a simple enough (for this English person) & wonderful menu offering amongst other thing Tapas. Suffice to say it was a delightful experience

I only stumbled upon this small road when I decided to venture to the inner parts of Albaycin, just because I had just a little time to spare before leaving Granada... It is an uphills walk, not too long, very colourful, with many shops selling '1001 Nights' wares and eateries. At the top, next to the Plaza San Gregoria, there is this amazing aromatherapy shop where they sell their own products ( now for some unique scented gifts, soaps ...) and next to it a tea shop. It really sums up the Albaycin spirit for me...

Walked through the area without spotting anything of real interest. The shops sell pretty much the same thing to the same price so there's not much to be gained from browsing and looking at different sellers and their offers. Tea houses might be interesting, didn't visit any of them during my time here.

We were staying in a hotel opposite the end of this street. It was very quiet during the day, but came alive at night with lots of stalls selling many different types of items.

A lot of stores selling a wide variety of wares from morocco, Nepal, India/Pakistan, Syria, Iran with a few Spanish goods. For the most part it is very similar to Alcaiceria.
Expect to bargain pretty hard if you are buying anything. You should be able to bring them down from 10 to 30 percent of their original asking price
There are some nice restaurants in the area that have been decorated well.
My favourite part of this area is the general aesthetics, and it was not as cramped as alcaiceria.

Lovely little street, full of shops and terterias. We ate a lovely little one (I think number 5) run by a young couple and they could not have been more friendly.

The wares sold here are so colourful. It is suppose to evoke a feeling of being in a North African baazar. While it doen't quite achieve this imitation it has it's own unique vibe that makes this worth visiting. It is certainly a tourist trap no doubt, everything sold here is meant to be a souviner and you can probably find something here that is quite nice. In between all the standard souviners you can find some unique artist shops. There are also restuarants and cafes. This narrow, busy street is worth a stroll.

I've travelled to Granada twice now and both times I've been lucky enough to visit Calle Caldereria Nueva. This street has some many great shops and restaurants. One in particular I would recommend is As Sirat, small mom and pop shop, great tea, shisha and sweets. We had great service, and they made us feel at home. I can’t wait to go back.

The sound and scents of Morocco are apparent in this street. I suppose it is a bit touristy but all adds up to the experience of being in such an historic Moorish city. very enjoyable to have a stroll and sense the atmosphere

Walking along this narrow alleyway gives an illusion as if it's in the Middle East or North Africa. The smell of shisha and tagine marks the distinctiveness of Albaicin. An interesting area to explore.

I am looking for an apartment (private not sharing) to stay at from March to May. I will be visiting the university of Granada for research purposes.
I got an apartment in this street for €450 per month (no bills included) and was wondering whether its lovcated in a safe area. Any suggestions or advice would be sincerely appreciated. Many thanks
