Impressing a Thons of Gold

A Lovelyn baroque church. I must confess I have never seen so much golden figures at one place. It was very impressing and stunning!

Tried to visit on Sunday afternoon before visiting the cathedral (it's a joint ticket and you miss the queues that way) but it was closed despite the website saying it opened at 14:30. We came back much later after queuing at the the cathedral and it was worth the extra walk.

The Church of El Salvador is one of my favorite churches to visit in Seville becauses it is very beautiful. There are many chapels there that I admire for their beauty and design. Also if you go there you can get a ticket that also allows you to enter the Cathedral and avoid the queue there.

Art & architecture again are unbelievable. History galore in this church. Including Christopher Columbus. The interior is unbelievable. This is a must see. There was a bit of queue (1 block) but it was only about 15 minute wait. That was with no tickets.

Spectacular altarpieces and sculpture - huge wealth in the church. You can buy a combined ticket to the church and Cathedral, which means you don't have to queue at the Cathedral in the sun (just go straight past the long ticket queue to the security desk).

Unfortunately we were not aware of the combined Cathedral/Iglesia ticket and paid Euro4 each to visit, which included an audio guide. It was well worth the cost. The church was largely reconstructed during the 17th and 18th centuries, being originally built, like so many other churches in this part of Spain, on the site of a mosque. A further major... More

One of the best churches we have visited. The statue of the weeping mother in the chapel on the right is truly remarkable; the way the agony has been captured by the sculpture.

When you go buy your tickets for the cathedral you might as well visit the church where you buy them. Once you go in, you will be overwhelmed by the richness of the different pieces of art and decoration. Pure baroque creations that create a feeling of great satisfaction and joy. Also make sure that you rent the audio equipment,... More

We really enjoyed this visit and it has some impressive chapels and a lovely main altar. Go and enjoy - not just for the joint ticket to the cathedral (you can skip the queue by getting this).

Having sightseen a lot of churches during our travels only this one compares with Sacre Couer inn Paris for its embrace of us mortals. Impressive sure but also peaceful and welcoming (as opposed to austere, stern or repressive). Please do not miss this gem and watch the sunlight play on the carvings throughout.
