How fantastic - you can walk safely right over the bridge in between the traffic lanes. Pity about the graffiti, nut nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed it. Quite beautiful.

The Alamillo Bridge has a very unusual shape that is not symmetrical. It looks like it is cantileveled. It was built for the Expo92 as a symbol of the city of Seville. This is one of Santiago Calatrava's best designs.

Impressive Calatrava's asimmetric bridge dominating the northern - western part of Seville. You can profit your visit to croos Guadalquivir river to pay a visit to Italica - the remains of ancient Betica roman province capital.

This is a very nice white bridge. If you are on a airplane you may see this beautiful bridge underneath you.

It is a great example of modern architecture and Calatrava's famous building. It's a symbol of modern Sevilla. Magnificent!

Santiago Calatrava is one of Spain's best known architects and he is famous for his bridges. This bridge is one of his better designs and it was finished in 1992 for the Expo of that year. The bridge has one huge pillar that is leaning to one side, which is quite unusual.

Not only breathtaking for the concept, but also very, very beautiful - as beautiful, to my mind, as any of the better-known old architectural marvels of Seville.
You have to go a kilometre or down the Guadalquivir from the centre of town, but it's worth it. Not to be missed on any account.

We saw this bridge as we flew into Seville, then took a boat trip that went nearer to it, Unbelievable that only 13 wires support it as it looks off centre.

Drove past this bridge a few times and it’s a really impressive structure - the main spar/pylon can be seen from a distance (see my pic taken from top of Setas de Sevilla in city centre). It opened in 1992 as part of the Expo 92 infrastructure with no cost spared!
