Parque del Alamillo is a large park. It has lots of trees, it is next to a canal, and it's green. We only walked through a small area, but this is a place for serious walkers and runners. There is not really anything to see. It's probably got more clean air than other parts of the city, so it might be worth visiting.

If you have kids or even if you don´t, and you want to spend the day laying on the grass, having a picnic..this is the park for you. I take my kids here all the time, they have several play areas, by age and a lake to feed the ducks..alot of wide areas of grass, some picnic tables, a train that goes around the park...and on weekends they usually always have something going on ...a craft fair, a skate workshop...a bike event...something....Just a really nice park to spend the day at...bring a ball..a frisbee....they also have various refreshment stands where they sell food and drink...

This huge park is located on the other side of the river. It takes quite long to walk there, even though we stay in a hotel across the bridge just near the city wall. That day the park is full of students leaded by teachers, to have a field trip, I reckon. Then there are tourists coming by coaches after coaches, We walk around , find 2 lakes, but no boat hiring, further on, there is a locked up grassland area for dogs. We watch in amaze how owners let their dogs run wild in this area, greyhounds, bulldogs, all are so happy chasing each other. We don't see any bike hire, or train ride as the book says, nor do we find the training of young Toro ( bullfighter) in every Friday as it says in some website. But it's a nice park, far from the city, peaceful and quiet, to spend a day here is a pleasure. The refreshment kiosk also provides tables and chairs for those who want to have lunch there.

Be careful with the parking in the RTVE area, there are no bumpers to ensure or inform that the car's wheels should not reach the flower bed or you risk leaving the bumper there.
The gentlemen who are there on Sundays are only there to charge you and nothing more.
Since we pay for them to use that money for our safety and that of our vehicles

In the future, this may become a main park in Seville. right now it is just out of the way, and without too much interest.

If like me you do the occasional run then you can run along the riverbank and into the parque del alamillo. If you are based in San Jeronimo then this is right on your doorstep. You can do circuits in the park or venture along the riverbank. A great way to keep up the exercise.

Running from the centre of Sevilla along the riverside and ten kilometers further at the end of the river you come to this marvelous Parque del Alamillo on the other side. A large garden of orange trees. While running through this garden you can enjoy the nature and it surrounding on the other side of the river.
