Maria Luisa Park is as lovely park to stroll in and it has various monuments.

Becquer monument in Maria Luisa Park pays tribute to the romantic poet Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.

The statue is meant to reflect the different aspects of love.

For those who do not know, Becquer is the beloved romantic 19th century poet of all Spaniards. The statue of the three girls dreaming of his poetry and persecuted by cupid is builtiful. The small glorieta (encircled garden) is also a nice place to sit down and rest a little. The glorieta is one of the must see spots in the Maria Luisa park. Do not miss it.

This white marble monument is located in María Luisa Park. Main figure is dedicated to the poet Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. The three female figures sitting on a bench symbolise the three states of love. There is a surrounding fence to protect this monument. Worthwhile to drop by if you are in this area.

I've got no idea who is Glorieta de Becquer or anything about Spanish literature and I came across this statue while wandering around Parque de Maria Luisa. This is an absolutely amazing statue. The look of adoring ladies gazing lovingly at Becquer is enough to evoke romantic feelings on it's own.

In the nice Park of Maria Luisa in Seville, is a very romantic monument under a sorrow willow, three graces in white marble and two statues in bronze, and the buste of the poet Gustav de Becquer, a very popular writer and poetry, born in Seville 1836-1870; (he was not getting old,)
Glorieta , from a poem of the writer, represent all kinds of women;
perhaps only Glorieta, one women with 3 faces;
the first face; dreaming of Love, the second: Find Love, the last face: Lost of Love;
behind the three graces is the bronze Angel Eros with his bow and arrow, he can blessing or he can be beneficial -.
On the other side of the monument, the buste of the poet, himself,
and a death sculpture, also in bronze, I don't know exactly what this symbol describe.
Anyway, it's nice to walk in Park Maria Luisa and admire this romantic monument.

Just off the impressive Plaza De Espana lies the Park Maria Luisa. In it you can find this statue, the Glorieta de Becquer, inspired by a poem about three different women, whom you can see in the statue, which is in bronze and marble.

Apart from the beauty of the statue, enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and the lush park!

This is an incredibly beautiful statue in Park Maria Luisa. It is dedicated to a poet from Seville who wrote a poem about three different kinds of women who are represented in the statues as is the poet to the left (in my picture). Anyways it is in one of the more tranquil parts of the park and setting around the tree is amazingly done. If you visit the park, which is a must see, you need to see the tribute.

Wandering through the beautiful gardens off the plaza de espanea and came across this wonderful monument to Becquer just beautiful,but,what I really want to know is why there were bunches of fresh flowers all around the bronze figure of a young girl,would it be because followers of Becquer have placed them there as an admiration gift?

Gustavo Becquer (1836-1870) was a famous poet and writer born in Seville. His works are taught in Spanish schools and is considered by many second only to Cevantes in the great writers of Spain.
