Apparently the Virgin Mary is to have visited Zaragoza to offer moral support to the Apostle James. She left behind a pillar around which the basilica was built and added onto... More

Just beautiful, but lighting needs to be improved so one can see all the artistic and architectural details.

A visit to the Basilica del Pilar is a must if you visit Zaragoza. The altars are stunning and the highlight is being able to kneel and kiss the pilar where the Virgin Mary appeared. There is an admittion fee of 2 euros to the museum but this is not worthwhile. The lift to the top of the Basilica is... More

This church was very beautiful inside. There was no enterance fee. Be sure to go up the tower elavator (fee is required) to view the Elbro river and the city.

This is a truly unique place. As someone who has seen 1000s of churches in my lifetime, this one certainly grabbed my attention. It's unique, stunning, peaceful and enchanting. A must for any traveller. Don't walk past this one without going in!

I've seen 1000s of churches in my time but this one is unique and special. I feel very lucky to have seen this one. Simply amazing! Well worth a look en route to Madrid.

Massive and beautiful. Don't miss the bombs of the Spanish civil war on the wall at the back, which didn't go off -miraculously!. Visit is free, there are usually no queues and it's centrally located.
