Not the prettiest of squares, but a handy spot to meet friends by the fountain. Near some mediocre restaurants on the actual square, & a busy intersection. Better restaurants are down side streets. There is also a large El Corte Ingles & clothing stores. Not somewhere I'd sit long due to the car fumes, but good to get your bearings... More

This square is awesome as a meeting point. Before we went to the old town we always met up at the fountain in the middle. This square is quite huge and has also some nice restaurants. Especially the burger restaurant on the right side is very good. You can just take the tram to get easily to this square

This plaza is near many landmarks and has beautiful views. The world renown convention center is across the streets. Take a moment to take great pictures.

It's a square in a city with a feature, that is a landmark. Sure you will go through it or around it at least once while in Zaragoza, difficult not to really. If you do, take time to look up at the architecture on the buildings surrounding the plaza; unles of course you are driving!

The Plaza Espana is the heart of Zaragoza. Locals gather here to meet for coffee, have a chat, enjoy people watching.

We got lost here , as the car route takes you close by and we had to loop around past all the lights. I am sure that this is a hot spot for fun when the city is in full swing, but for us, another landmark, not more.

If you walk by for another reason, observe, enjoy, and have a drink. But don't go out of your way to visit.

Plaza Espana is one of my favourite places and that is possibly because it is where I frequently meet my daughter who now lives in Zaragoza. Visit in October during the Pillar Celebrations and the lady at the front of the fountain looking up Independencia will invariably be wearing the traditional peasant scarf worn by everyone during the event.
