This and the neighbouring Santa Maria del Naranco are fascinating to old church geeks like me- very atmospheric and full of fascinating detail. The guided tour may only be in Spanish; but it is worth tagging along to get inside. We never did find the...More

A Roman Catholic church that was built on Mount Naranco and is situated near the Church of Santa María del Naranco. It was consecrated in 842 and only 1/3 of the original structure still stands. It is pretty incredible to see it up close and...More

Barely 200 m from the mor famous Santa María del Naranco, it is another jewel among the Asturian churches found in the surroundings of Oviedo. Not so spectacular as its neighbour, still is worth the walk.

My review for this place would be very similar to that of Santa Maria del Naranco, since it is located very close (less than 200 m away). It is not to be missed if you see the first one, since it is a very old...More

This is the smaller, less ostentatious looking church compared with Santa Maria del Naranco which is only a few hundred metres away and within walking distance If visiting Naranco, it would be a shame to miss this one out. It is also included as a...More

This chapel is a photographer's delight. Beautiful symmetry combined with a compactness not often seen these days. Reminded me very much of renaissance chapels. It is a short if somewhat steep stroll from the Santa Maria. Worth it.

It is the same comment I made for the Santa Maria del Naranco. Driving to the hill where it is located is easy, then getting on foot to the area is slightly complicated, but at the end make sense to walk (you may reach the...More
