Very nice church located in the heart of the small village of Sant Fransesc. The church is very quite and peaceful. There is a lady guarding the church. Nice sculptures. The place around in the village is very nice too

Not sure when this church is open but we just stumbled across it late one morning and walked in. Lovely serene atmosphere and loads of history. Well worth a look if you are in the town.

We went at the wrong time of the day when the doors were firmly shut so we were unable to look round. Apparently it is very peaceful inside. Positioned in the middle of the town with the obligatory ale house opposite, perfect spot to include in your holiday itinary

L’Esglèsia de Sant Francesc Xavier is the main church in Formentera, and it is located in Sant Francesc Xavier, the main town in the island. Really it is not only a church, it is a complex castle-church and it is very beautiful (the church and the square, where the church is located). In fact, this building is the typical white church of Pitiuses islands (Eivissa+Formentera) and for me, it is very recommendable to visit the three churches in Formentera: Esglèsia de Sant Francesc Xavier, Esglèsia de Sant Ferran de Ses Roques and Esglèsia del Pilar de la Mola (for me the last one is the most beautiful), however all are more beautiful outside than inside. Inside the churchs only have a little chapel and some benches, and you can only visit them, when they open due to religious mass.

The church is a 'must visit' site. To do this you will automarically experience the amazing sight of San Francesci Xavier. The whole village is WHITE and looks like a film set! So pristine and clean and fresh! A complete contrast to the rest of the Island of Formentera. Explore a large number of interlinking roads and avenues, with wide open spaces surrounded by numerouse shops and bars and restaurants. Two for the 'price' of one visit! A charming not to be missed church and an eye opening vista of white!
