Not worth a dedicated visit, but many routes lead here for walkers and they will be moderately rewarded for their efforts. Yes, have a beverage and pay a bit more but if on holiday, why not. The market-style stalls (check market day if wishing to...More

Lovely square, nice architecture and quaint streets around it, could have been 4 or even 5 stars, it's a shame about the hawkers (street vendors), I've been to loads of european cities and this was by far the worst for hawkers, people trying to make...More

The square itself is fine, and it's possible to buy traditional craft-mostly jewelery, but for me this is just a tourist trap; restaurants with waiters trying to haul you in, performers trying to relieve you of your money, reminding me too much places like the...More

Placa Major is must-visit place. It is an open-spaced square with different caffes, Burger King, souvenirs.

Passed through here while visiting Palma City. There was a local market with traditional crafts which was nice to look round. Just a bustling square in the city with a lovely atmosphere.

as many others have noted the square is architecturally interesting, indeed it's impressive but perhaps the downturn in the economy has hit it hard? the square is populated by nasty tourist restaurants and a host of tat shops. the underground precinct is tired and tacky...More

Not bad as squares go and seems to be the hub of local events. Restaurants okay and the highlight I'd the supermarket under the square where, if staying in the old quarter is the only place to get your reasonably priced food and drinks. One...More
