Wonderful building full of charm and religious tranquillity. Costs to enter but well worth the admission price (which also gets you into the Cloisters of the Convent just around the corner). Dedicated to Saint Mary, this classical building was apparently built during the 14th century on the same site where a renowned mosque was stood.

Found the inside more interesting than the external view.
A very gothic style which was amazing clean and well maintained.
We spent longer than normal cathedral visits which demonstrates the level of interest we had .
Impressive.

Also the ticket gave us access to a convent close by which we felt was even more worth while. A well spent 7 euro

My wife and I visited Cala Galdana and took a side trip into the old capital of Ciutadella de Menorca. This magnificent cathedral is one of many thing to see. However, it does close during siesta as does most of this city. We waited until it reopened and were glad we did. Do not miss seeing this.

Cathedral was lovely. Fair price to get in and look round. Information leaflet included.
Ticket price included access to the convent, several streets away. It was absolutely stunning - a real oasis away from the hot streets of the city.

Went to cathedral and what a amazing but small place to see. The ticket not expensive at all included a visit to the nearby covent.Such a peaceful place and worth finding it as we lost twice trying to locate in the town streets.

You only appreciate the magnificence of the place when you stop to think that it was all achieved without the aid of modern machinery.

The cathedral is on a par with others visited around Europe, but the highlight for me was the joint entry ticket to the Cloisters, a short walk away which were peaceful but also had some amazing exhibits of Menorca's history and culture.

The Cathedral is very pretty and beautifully maintained. The real joy though is the convent which is included in the €5 entry ticket. Just round the corner the map says. I got lost. So did everyone else I spoke to. Anyway. Don't be daunted. Persevere and you will find the convent. Why would you want to? Because it houses a museum containing a couple of hundred bits of uninteresting pottery and OMG - some of the most terrifying taxidermy you will ever try not as laugh at because you are in a convent. And everyone else is sort of taking it seriously. And you can't believe they don't think it's funny too. But nobody is laughing. Which kind of makes it funnier. Anyway here's a taster:

It costs €6 pp to enter and this includes a visit to the convent nearby. The information is good and we spent quite a while inside. We did not visit the convent. You are allowed to take photos.
