Once at the height of 2km you get an Amazing view at the rocks of the caldera. You can start at Los Brecitos for a walk through the mountains. Unforgetable

Would strongly recommend for walking. Relatively easily accessible by the no 300 bus from Santa Cruz (indeed there is a stop at the visitor centre but TILP, the bus company don’t flag it well). The two walks I did were both spectacular and not particularly...More

We drove up from Santa Cruz. An interesting drive.... to put it mildly. But incredible scenery. Be prepared to take a pack up. Hoping to go again. I would say if you’re in La Palma it’s one of the must do activities.

A must-visit area. The scale of the Caldera is truly breathtaking. From one of the viewpoints you can see right up to Roque de las Muchachos. Take a camera! Going back to La Palma next month and can't wait to take another look at this!

A wonderful 6 hour hike around the interior of the Caldera...pathways quite good throughout although there is some rock scrambling needed here and there...the smell of pine forest is wonderful!

Without a car, it´s impossible to discover the island, especially the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. You can make nice walks here, the whole island is a walkers paradise. When you drive around the crater there are nice photo opportunities.

Walk from the visitor centre up the well marked paths, first part was through the cloud which is always there, emerge to blue sky’s once you reach 5500 feet then a very hot walk to the bothy overlooking the caldera views to die for.
