Did this tour as a cruise excursion. We loved it. Views are spectacular. We took a short hike along the volcanic crater that is very manageable everyone on the bus completed the hike.

Visited as part of a 'round the island' trip. The views were immense. Not just in the crater but on the journey up and down. Do not miss this opportunity if visiting La Palma

Visiting the natural wonder that is the Caldera usually involves one of two things: the view from the rim, and the hike from Los Brecitos down the barranco. Both are well worth doing. For the rim, Pico de la Nieve and Pico dear la Cruz...More

We pre-booked parking online (very simple and free) and drove up to the main car park. We took the circular route with our two children (8 and 9). The walk was easily manageable for them, although there are a few places where the path is...More

Definitely worth visiting if you book your parking space at visitor's Centre (we booked at 11am for a 2-4pm arrival the same day). There is only one hike appropriate for children starting at Cumbrecitas, all others are too long or strenuous. The pathways were sometimes...More

We'd like to walk from Los Brecitos down to the campsite and back to the car park. I'm a fit 62-year-old and have done a few hikes on this our first trip to La Palma, but I am a bit nervous on very steep uneven rocky paths. For instance, I didn't thoroughly enjoy walking down to the beach at La Veta. Can anyone tell me the difficulty level or if I might be scared out of my wits?! Thanks.

We kept to the main paths which were reasonably level. If you go of the beaten track, it would be steep and uneven. In any event I would suggest a pair of walking poles.
Maybe this is wishful thinking but I saw a time lapse of the Milky Way galaxy on top of the mountains at la caldera de taburiente. Ever since it's been on the top of my bucket list to experience that in person. I'm in medical school and frankly am not concerned witj the price, but what I'm worried about is that maybe access to that area at night is prohibited to those who aren't scientists or researchers. So is it possible for me to star gaze at the top of the mountains there? If so please let me know who I can contact for further information as to planning a trip. Thanks! Jarin K.

Hi! As far as I found, you can buy a 2-day "Star gazing" tour in Natour Agency, so you can spend whole night in the mountains watching the stars. There are several agencies offering star gazing tours, I even saw a flyer with... More
