The long beach is popular with surfers but it's also ideal for a stroll. NB There's nothing there in terms of facilities other than a cafe at the village end.

to walk the whole stretch from Caleta Famara to Famara. Absolutely fab! Watch the huge surfs. We got drenched twice over when waves turned huge and hit you. Great to watch surfers too. Most of them were students making good attempts.

What a location. Backdrop of lava fields and sea cliffs with constant rolling waves coming in. What more do you want. Remember to pack a lunch though!

We returned after two fabulous weeks in Lanzarote. Lanzarote is beautiful all around, the place and the people. The one horrific downside was a drowning death on Famara beach. Apparently there are some terrible currents and people get into difficulty and the results are fatal....More

We felt like locals at this beach. Lots of dogs, kite flyers and people who seemed like they actually lived there. Particularly fun watching the kite surfers, who were amazing! The beach is HUGE and of course we wanted to go to the naturist section...More
