Nice square in central area of the town. Surrounded by a large mix of bars and restaurants. Small play area for children.
Nice shaded area to pass the time and watch the world go by.

What a wonderful place to watch the World go by ! Plaza Charco is the first place I visit when I arrive in Puerto de la Cruz. Everything is there for you, the whole atmosphere of Tenerife, at its best.
Bars, wonderful resturants, shops, but not noisy.........no cars, just people talking, walking, and soft sounds of music as you pass a bar. You can still hear the parrots in the trees that surround the square.
Sunday afternoon/early evening is wonderful. You will see the locals stroll around the square, or just pass along it. 5 generations, all together, in their best church clothes, being as we all should aim to be........one big happy family.
I'm going back again in 5 weeks, and I will spend a good percentage of my holiday in and around that Plaza. Maybe dinner, tapas, or just a drink.......but one thing forsure, I will enjoy every moment. So will you

This is the beating heart of the city actually.
And especially at night.
You can't, you must not miss it.
Yo have there restaurants, ice creams, bands playing music, shops and stores selling perfumes and alcohol of course but also anything else, everything and people all around making the Plaza Charco the place to be.
Do you remember your high school, or college, or simply your Saturday nights looking for the next party, the place to be, where is it happening, well it is Plaza de Charco.
The Butte Montmartre or the Saint Germain des Pres of Paris, The Dizengoff of Tel Aviv...
To make a long story short... you got no choice, be there or be out....

What a cute little square to spend an evening! Lots of good price restaurants and bars. Nice live music in the centre of the square. There does tend to be reps and vendors around the place but they got the message from us pretty quickly and left us alone. A must for any holiday in Puerto de la Cruz!

When you holiday in Puerto de la Cruz at some point you will visit Plaza Charco it has a great relaxed atmosphere wonderful little bars and restaurants all playing their own music. Some of the restaurants do a beer and tapas for 1 euro so after one or two beers you could have had breads with flavoured olive oils, olives, nuts meats or even papas Aguardas.(potatoes in sauce) wonderful.
It has people from all over the world just talking, eating, drinking walking and relaxing and just letting life pass them by.

It's a place to pass when going to other places.
In the evenings there is painful, very loud music - different sounds from all the places round the Plaza Charco. Very disturbing if you want to relax with a drink or having dinner.
All the different music will become disturbing sounds and not music.

This is one of the main hubs of this charming and characterful town - and is very pleasant to stroll around of an evening taking in the lively atmosphere and hustle and bustle. There is a vibrant cosmopolitan mix of tourists & locals of all ages, and plenty of choice of seating either within the park itself, or at one of the several bars & restaurants within the area. Loved to listen to the various top-class singers, guitarists & performers at various bars & eating places - though sometimes it seemed they were in competition to out-do one another. You may get a bit of hassle from vendors trying to get you in to their properties - but we took it in good humour. Fabulous place to people-watch.

Very nice square with live music in the evening. Free internet excess in the bars and restaurants. Some bars and restaurants had quit high prices up to 2 € a small beer so you must be carefull where you sit. Cheapest was 1.25€ for a small beer
