Good location looking out to sea and was obviously strategically important in days gone by. It has a well preserved/restored exterior but was closed at the time of our visit so am unable to comment on what may lie within, hence the "average " rating.

From the outside this fort appears to be very well preserved. It was closed when we were there. Right next to the large Opera House which is easy to spot.

This beautiful old Castillo is also called Castillo Negro. It was the second most important fort in the defense of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is located in between the Auditorio de Tenerife and the Parque Maritimo César Manrique. Beautifully preserved.

This old port security post stands next to the new future facing theater creating quite a juxtaposition of old and new. As seen from the ship entering port you can imagine a much older time when much smaller ships made their way into the port...More

This casttle shows part of the past history from Sta Cruz de Tenerife. Is near the Parque marítimo (pools) and the Palmetum (the biggest palmtree garden in Europe).
