Built at the highest point in Toledo, the fortress dominates the surrounding area. The fortress dates back to the Roman times and has survived several sieges, fires and battles. The building has a square plan with towers at each corner. A modern military museum has...More

Spectacular vistas from this mountainside redoubt. You got to be in shape to walk it though. You walk down steep streets which is fine. It is the uptown walk that gets you. Take a bus.

The views from the Alcázar is breathtaking, we decided to walk uphill to see it, are we glad we were there in May, Spanish summers can be brutal.

Massive museum about the Spanish army, with many model soldiers! Roman cisterns beneath the museum. Big courtyard and terraces with great views.Great cafe with good well priced food.

If you are interested in history, especially militia history, this place is for you. The best part is miniature soldiers section. Toledo is a small town so you would enjoy your visit for sure.

We couldn't go to the museum since we did'nt have time. But the building is beautiful from outside. Also the views from the top are excellent. There is a cafe on top. One could end their tour here or begin from here. Must visit.Good photo spots.

Probably the most beautiful and emblematic building in Toledo, recently restored. Great views and some interesting historic facts. However the Army museum is a nightmare to follow, the curators overcomplicated the experience and, for non-Spaniards, will be wasted in vast parts.
