This is probably the reason you will go to Toledo. The pechinas, it's gothic style and the open air part or has makes this the most beautiful cathedral en Europe.

Beautiful cathedral, words cannot describe how lovely it is. It is a must visit when you come to Toledo, you can't come here and not see it.

A visit to the Cathedral of St Mary is a must for visitors to Toledo, even if churches and cathedrals aren't your thing. It is simply breathtaking - one of the loveliest I've seen. Take a peak outside - the heavy doors are openable even...More

Perhaps the most grand over the top ornate cathedral outside of Rome. It is a must see. Make sure you take the audio tour. Plan on a solid 2 hours.

The cathedral has several amazing zones, so you should walk all around not to miss them. Moreover, there is a little museum inside, so you also get a chance to see some of El Greco works in this place.

This cathedral deserves its fame. It is overwhelming in its excesses of ornamentation, yet manages to still be utterly pleasing to the eye. And you can see many famous paintings as well. We had an excellent guide who managed to make it very interesting with...More

You must see to believe all the art and beauty contained with-in the walls of this building. This is not what we expected when visiting a cathedral. It a one-of-a-kind place. A must see if visiting Cathedrals are you thing

I enjoy going to cathedrals as I love the Architecture and carvings. This was most enjoyable to see and we paid extra to go up the tower, the bells in there are fantastic and the main one is huge. Worth a visit.

I'm an American and have been in Europe for most of the past few years. I stopped visiting churches, especially those charging admission. (With an occasional exception, such as for the Ghent Altarpiece.) I was simply a bit burned-out having seen so many. I know...More

I'm not sure, sorry. My husband always wears pants when we visit churches, just to be on the safe side.

I think Rick Steves basically did the math on the Toledo Card and you would have to see alot of sites inorder to make it worth it. We did the audio tour of the Cathedral and loved it. You really could spend the entire day... More

I went in the afternoon and perhaps because it was not high tourist season (was there September), I waited perhaps 20 seconds as there was only one person ahead of me!
