This spot offers great views of the old city of Toledo, the Tajo River and the old walls of the city. If you don't have a car you can get here on the cheesy-looking Tourist Train from Zocodover Plaza. If you do take the train,...More
A wide angle camera lens please - what a terrific view of the whole of old town Toledo and you'll want to get it all in your shot. The afternoon light gave the whole town a warm glow and was easy to see why people...More
When you are inside of the city, it feels crowded. The streets are narrow and crowded with people in addition to the inconvenience of cars passing thru the narrow streets while one is trying to sightsee. If you look at photos from inside the city,...More

Forget about museums, cathedrals and other attractions - come here instead! There's a stunning view of the city, and if you walk a bit uphill, you will find yourself alone, enjoying a quiet view over the city. I spent hours there, just looking and contemplating.
There's no better way of seeing Toledo than from the ring road surrounding it.
The entire city is encircled by the Tagus river and the view is breathtaking.
The brownish-yellowish tones of the city contrast so beautifully with the green color of the river –...More

There is a Hop-on, Hop-off bus every 20 minutes. A day ticket costs 9€ for the day. Half price for pensioners. You can also get a 10% discount if you have your ticket from another city's hop-on, hop-off bus [It's a worldwide company called City Sightseeing - check Google]. It's one of the best value for money deals in Toledo. Ear phones are provided and commentaries are in multiple languages. The Tourist information office have details of all the stops. The Mirador is a viewpoint on the opposite side of the river where the bus stops and waits while you can get out and look or take photos. If you want to stay and visit a restaurant, you can get a later bus, but you have ample time to take photos and get back on the same bus.
I don't know about a bus that is not hop-on, hop-off.
