Historic entry point to the old city. One of the prettiest gates we have seen in any city. Well worth a diversion to see it. Many architectural details, including the carvings above the entry.

As we were heading back to the station the friendly taxi driver pulled over so we could take a photo of the gate. I found both drivers we used to be very accommodating. They obviously know which side their bread is buttered on. He also...More

We made a special effort to enter through this impressive puerta. That meant taking a bit of a hike from the train station up the hill (in the sun, I might add). It's a bit of a work-out but an impressive sight to be sure....More

Talking about making an entrance? Well, this certainly is an amazing one. Part of the wall, beautifully restored, very impressive!

Really great entrance to the city. Where else has this? It reflects all that the city behind has to offer. Extremely ornate architecture and well preserved. A superb photo opportunity too. A must do when in Toledo.

This is one of three gates into Toledo. It is beautiful and a very quick site to see. Worth walking to it to take a look.

Our hotel was on the outside of the inner city, a mere 200 meters from this entrance. Honestly, it is impressive. I thought that the surrounding areas are well maintained, as is this entrance. Just a wonderful place to admire. Yes, this is the entrance...More

While we did not visit until leaving the city late in the afternoon, it was the most impressive entrance into the walled city. The Moors also had this as their main gate and their design can be seen in back. The Christians built a new...More
