The carving of the high alter so delicate and to have survived is a miracle. The virgin feeding the baby Jesus so warm and loving. The virgin on her own, could be by one of the old masters of the Renaissance just so evocative.

Not the grandeur of Burgos cathedral in size, but this is a cosy and very intricately decorated church close by the big cathedral. If you are visiting the cathedral, do not miss this

There's more to Burgos than its magnificent Cathedral and San Gil is one place you can't miss! The main altar carved in alabaster is simply spectacular! See it for yourselves!

Great architecture & interior decorations. Buy a ticket for the Burgos cathedrals including San Gil.

The facade of the Church of San Gil Abad is very impressive. The church was built at the end of the 13th century. It has many beautiful altars. This is an important church to visit.

Splendid altar - a true masterpiece. Not open all day, so you need to check the hours or visit in the mess hours.

When I visited I was the only person. It was so quiet and peaceful inside. I think it would be helpful to read more about this place before you come to fully appreciate the artwork inside. Just off the Camino to the right as you...More
