Stayed here for a couple of nights. Midway between travel from Madrid to Bilbao. Old converted nunnery with lots of history. This is one of the Paradors of Spain. Paradors are always worth considering when visiting Spain...I have stayed at several....this one is right up...More

This building is also a parador, or government run hotel. It is truly a very impressive structure and retains much of the historical appearance it had in centuries. The church and cloister are very nice. Parts of the building are for guests only, so visitors...More

Located close to the river and picturesque old medevial bridge, San Marco monastery is worth of even a short visit. See inside patio with cypruses and arches of second floor gallery, main alter, great ceiling arches. A real masterpiece of arcitecture in Leon!!!

This place almost dissapeared so the fact that it's still intact is amazing when you see get to see it and learning the rich history behind it.

We were fortunate enough to stay in this building which began life as a place of rest for pilgrims on the Santiago de Compostela trail. As well as delux accommodation, the building has well-preserved cloisters and many remnants of its previous religious life.

One of the major landmarks in Leon; I went there on foot walking along the river bank. Easy access and nice walk. The building itself was turned into a hotel, it was well kept.

You can visit this old pilgrim's hospital for free. You have here as well leon's museum and a great 5 star hotel. If you are doing the way you will walk next to the place.

This place is not exactly on the tourist trail, but worth the detour. What a building with lovely landscaping. Really it's one of the best public buildings in Leon AND nearby is the old bridge over the river which is also quite scenic. Don't miss...More

I have NEVER spent nights in a "hotel" that had so much history that it rivaled some tourist attractions in the number of pictures I'd taken. That is, until I spent a few nights here. The service here is exceptional. Anything you need just ask...More

Great place. Especially as a hotel. Truly memorable, it's like spending the evening/night in a palace with loads of history.
