You can access the old cathedral from the newer one, and it is included with the admission. Great architecture.

This beautiful Cathedral is worth a visit if you're in Salamanca. The grandeur and magnificence in it's architectural detailing will leave you in awe. It's worth the climb into the bell tower to get a great birds eye view of the city. Magnificent!!

This cathedral is massive and the architectural details are amazing. Stand by the large red front door and have your photo taken and you will see the scale of the building

If you wish to get back to the Gothic or Romanesque times - this is your choice. The Old cathedral stands out next to the new one and not lose anything in comparison with it. There are only two facades that can be seen - the other are common with the New one, but you certainly recognize the main entrance... More

This is a review about the Old and new cathedrals, as they are joined together and you go through the new cathedral to get to the old. Both are beautiful in their own way. The paintings and statues in the new are better than you usually see, and the old has some lovely mural. I particularly liked the Lady of... More

The choice of not destroy the old cathedral to build the new one was a great choice. The old cathedral has the carisma and a lot of stories about some of the most distinguish people of Salamanca. It's conection with he university of the city is also explained in the audio-guide. It is a must see atraction.

Beautiful cathedral with spectacular 17th-18th century art. I liked the old cathedral next door even better (included in same entrance fee), as it is earlier Gothic with frescos and a spectacular altar piece (totally) of many 15-16th century paintings, plus polo chromatic tombs. VERY cold inside on a winter's day!

Historic cathedral built in two parts- ancient and less ancient. Worth paying for the recorded guide but be warned- it's blooming cold in there. Architecture up there with the best.

Giant, beautiful old cathedral. Short walk from the University, so everything can be done at once. It is actually attached to the New Cathedral, so all of it is easy to do.
