The Gothic Quarter is an area rich in history and packed with historic sites and Palau Reial Major is one of my favourite areas to visit in this vibrant district of Barcelona.
Located just off Placa Ramon Berenguer El Gran and in Placa Del Rei,...More
Beautiful old buildings with an interesting history. You’ll need to google the history though, as there isn’t any information at the site. Prime example of gothic architecture and the surrounding streets are beautiful too.
Our guide told us these are the steps where Columbus came back to Spain and met the Queen. Pretty cool to have your photo made in that same spot. Easy walk through the area, quite lovely scenery. Recommend you walk through and take it in.
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local
musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
