The Boqueria market is a must see for every person visiting Barcelona. In a city filled with touristic attractions, this market is one of the few things that kept its charm and authenticity. The market offers a wide variety in products. From street food, ready to eat, to fresh fish and vegetables to be prepared at home. You can get... More

If you love food and food markets this is one of the best public friendly markets in the world. Not just for buying food to take home, but also incredible food stalls where you can sit or stand and eat unbelievable local food made right in front of you.

This market has all types of amazing food (desserts, seafood, tapas, drinks, vegetables, gifts, meat, etc). It's perfect for lunch where you can try a bit of everything. The 1.50€ fruit cups are amazing! They came with all kinds of fruits (kiwis, melons, dragon fruit, etc). Just be careful of your wallet/purse as you are walking through.

If you're looking for local flavor, there's no denying that this is where you MUST be in Barcelona. The people, the energy, and the food are just amazing. We stumbled upon it while walking La Rambla, and decide to taste our way through it, bite by bite; having a small portion of so many great new foods. Little did we... More

If you go into the Boqueria Market from the entrance on La Rambla the first few rows are very cramped and there is a lot of pushing. However if you go down one of the side streets and enter the market further back it is much easier to walk around and see everything. By mid afternoon a lot of the... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
