If you are a foodie, or if you even think you might be - then you simply must pay a visit to the market de la Boqueria. It's an onslaught to the senses, with fruit, meats, seafood, cheeses, wines, smoothies, ice creams, sweets, pastries, sandwiches, breads... the list goes on. It's very busy, and it's easy to see why. Probably the most beautiful market I've ever seen. Good food, all flavor juices, awsome fresh fish, hams, everything. You have to go if in BCN.

All old markets in Spain are quite unique - they have this special atmosphere - I enjoy them a lot, you should check it out, no matter if you want to grab a quick bite, wander around or just walk through.

This is a very interesting food market. There is always something for someone. It is along ramblas and would be interesting to drop by and have a few bites or buy a few gastronomic gifts. There are eateries surrounding the market as well. I like Spanish food and so I am biased. I would certainly recommend dropping by this place.... More

What a place to visit. The place is colorful with Fruit stall and Juices. The place also sells vegetable, cheeses and fresh fish. But the beauty of the place is in it vibrancy and the colors which we see around. Though it is a market place but the experience is totally different.

A really lovely place to visit, lots of stalls with all kinds of foodstuffs but my what made the biggest impression was fruit stalls, selling not only fresh fruit by the piece or kilo but little pots of fruit pieces to snack on and juices of many and varied colours and flavours

Famous Food market off La Ramblas! If you like food and its ingredients, please visit this place. Been there many times in the morning for fresh juices and breakfast, you have multitude of choices. Its lovely shopping for jamon with all the Iberico hams hanging around the stalls, olives, the fish market and vegetables. A fiest for the eyes and... More

The amount & variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat & seafood here is amazing. A whole stall dedicated just to eggs! The walkways are wide enough to stand at the side for pics or to look without being in the way. Its a working market though, so I'm sure stall holders & locals get annoyed with tourists just taking photos... More

Very nice market. Lot of fresh juices and meats. Definitely go on an empty stomach as prices are fairly decent!

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
