Casa Mila, popularly known as La Pedrera, is a most unusual building,...

Casa Mila, popularly known as La Pedrera, is a most unusual building, constructed between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) and declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1984. Today it is the headquarters of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and houses a cultural centre that is a reference point in Barcelona for the range of activities it organises and the different spaces for exhibitions and other public uses it contains. A visit to La Pedrera, landmark building and container, gives us a better understanding and appreciation of architecture and transports us to the period when Antoni Gaudí lived.

The roof is really cool, but that's about it. Thought the whole building would be done out in Gaudi's typical style but the inside is very plain and dull. Definitely far, far over-priced at 20 Euros to visit when you can explore the whole of Parc Guell for about a third of the price! My advice would be to go... More

It's one thousand times less interesting than the Batlò one, it's difficult to see enterly and it doesn't offers activities for kids. It requires a huge effort and patience.

Its amazing in every way, even inside. Gets very busy at times so plan your visit carefully. Also not much shade on a very hot day.

The roof top is full of structure, and only top floor make sense for the high ticket price entrance. It is a must see building among Gaudi architecture. No choice whether you think it is worth or not.

Expensive but well organised. Best to buy tickets on line and prebook a time. The building is wonderful to see and a great example to promote engineering, art, and practicality. What a visionary.

Loved all of this building...the rooftop is amazing...the attic is very interesting and to learn about Gaudi's vision of "green energy" was pretty cool. What a designer, what a visionary...loved the outside of the building too.

La Pedrera in Passeig de Gracia is another of Gaudi's architectural beauties. If you sit across the street in the evening and admire it will drinking your coffee/hot chocolate, it makes you wonder what was going through Gaudi's mind when he came out with this piece of art. It is a must see and you should go up to the... More

La Pedrera is a must see in order to understand better Gaudi. It is better to book online and get the audio. The organisation of the tour is good.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
