Tried to get tickets online, but that was a waste. Turns out there were almost an unlimited number of tickets available for frequent tours if you went to the box office in person. The building is beautiful and the inside is very special. We should have planned to see a show there as there are over 350 shows per year... More

When they built this theatre they obviously put all of the effort into the decor/ceiling and none into the sight lines of the stage from the seats! We went to see the guitar orchestra and it was a beautiful theatre to look at. If you are booking tickets make sure you book a seat with good sight lines, we had... More

We loved the tour - expensive but well worth it. Couldn't fit in a performance but will next visit. The structure and decoration is jaw-dropping. A MUST MUST see. Really wonderful.

We had a beautiful evening. It was my first opera and it won't be my last. The building itself was beautiful. What a great way to spend an evening!

I have visited this theatre twice but sadly have not managed to see a concert .It is a beautiful building and the interior is stunning. The ornate glass roof is like being inside a Tiffany lamp and when the sun shines though the colours are exquisite. You will not be disappointed.

As we walked back to our hotel one evening, I saw a glimpse of a stained glass window and decided it definitely required further inspection. I was not disappointed, in awe as we walked around the other side of the very same building to find this beautifully, brightly coloured masterpiece. We spent about half an hour just taking photos of... More

While it is worth touring just for the incredible Gaudi architecture, show prices are reasonable. We saw La Traviata and it was amazing. First rate opera singers, and the musicians are positioned behind the stage proper, not in a pit. It makes it a unique experience, and the sculptures protruding from the back wall almost appear to be part of... More

I saw the outer and inner parts of this palau as part of the Gothic Quarter walking tour and it's so beautiful. I wish I had had more time to experience a concert!

Thanks to advice from another reviewer we checked to see if there were any performances on here during our stay. As it happened Carmen was being performed on our first night so we decided to go. What an amazing place and performance. From the stained glass to the mosaics and sculptures and the performance it was a truly amazing night

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
