Love this place as there is a shopping mall with many unique shops to look at. Best of all, lots of tapas restaurants to choose from and the price ain't that expensive as in Las Ramblas.

We had time for a pleasant walk around the Port Vell area on our day in Barcelona on a cruise ship holiday. A bridge connects you to a mall and aquarium and there are plenty of stopping places to chill out and admire the views....More

Barcelona was for many years one of the great naval powers of the Mediterranean Sea, and this area is a relic from that area. There's a fascinating naval museum nearby. Try to find it.
