Great location overlooking La Rambla. Chef Andrei presented a fabulous menu of butternut squash and pear soup (now a family favourite - thank you chef), tapas, paella and Catalan Creme for dessert. We cooked with a lovely group of people, mainly couples but one other family. If we had one wish it was to do more cooking - chef was... More

Fantastic! Highly recommend, and yes it's worth the extra money to take one of the classes that includes the tour of the market. Our morning visit to the market was very informative, and seeing things through a chef's eyes may change your approach to selecting foods. Plus the market is amazing! We created several tapas dishes and the classic dessert,... More

Really enjoyed our cooking class with Andrei- trip to the bouqueria was fun and informative. The cooking class and wine was fun, relaxed and a really enjoyable way to spend a rainy afternoon in Barcelona.

This turned out to be the most fun thing we did in Spain. Candido was a super teacher. He took us on a private tour at the market before we actually participated in the cooking school which we found fascinating. Everything was ready to be prepared by our team of 13 people who came for the cooking class from all... More

My daughter and I attended the class on our last night in Barcelona and it was the perfect way to end a great stay in Barcelona. We were greeted very warmly upon our arrival and then went to the Boqueria Market to buy some supplies for our class. The Market tour was great and the Chef was very knowledgeable and... More

We had a fabulous experience with Andre. First, he took us to the Boqueria market, showed us around while sharing local history and cooking tips, then we prepared and ate a feast of butternut squash/pear soup, Spanish omelette, tomato bread, seafood paella and creme Catalan. His instructions were clear and he had a great deal of patience with those who... More

We are just back from our class this afternoon. We have taken several cooking classes in various cities since we enjoy cooking and find it a great way to get to know an area when we visit. We spent today with Chef Andre and have had a wonderful experience. We started with the market tour and enjoyed the visit and... More

This was a great fun night in Barcelona! Chef was very friendly in a sassy way. We all got to cook different parts of the meal, drinking wine throughout (which is an excellent touch). It took about 2 hours to make and then 1 hour of eating. Tip: come hungry as there is a LOT of food, but not too... More

I landed in Barcelona one morning, and did not sit down until about 8pm, when we enjoyed the tapas meal that we created in Barcelona Cooking. The staff is wonderful; friendly, inviting, and efficient. And I had a wonderful time sitting and enjoying our meal with a table of new friends, great discussion, and wonderful food! It was worth hitting... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
