Designed in 1994 by the architects Albert Viaplana and Helio Piñón, the Rambla de Mar is an undulating wooden walkway over the water, with two openings. It`s supported over the water by two iron arms. Every hour on the dot it opens up to allow...More

The only reason for this boardwalk's existence is to attract tourists to the mall and aquarium on the beach. There are no locals here, just tourists. It is always really crowded. There is nothing special about this.

Nice promenade connecting the city with the sea. At the end there is a shopping gallery and some restaurants.

We were visiting Barcelona for just a day, as part of a cruise ship holiday. This wider area, which I believe is called Port Vell is rich with modern buildings such as The Maremagnum shopping centre, an aquarium and cable cart. There are also nice...More

There isn't much else here than the bridge to the shopping mall. However the bridge did swing open to let the yachts through which was good. Nice place to sit and look at the water

This is a lovely modern boardwalk by the harbour, with views of yachts and other craft. You will also see the cable car, the World Trade Center and Montjuic as a backdrop. There is an attractive sculpture, Miraestels, in the harbour, and seating, protected from...More

Very active area, especially at night. Loved walking along the marina looking at the private luxury yachts of the mega rich... ah, if only.

Very busy main road in Barcelona which has everything central to it. The markets are along here lots of smaller shops and street vendors. Plenty of cafes, bars, clothes shops to keep most people happy.

We were having our lunch at The Chipiron (do check out my earlier review of this restaurant here too) and after our meal, we decided to walk around the harbourfront area. It was very nice and picturesque. It was calm and peaceful, seeing passing by...More
