Despite going to the Costa Brava for years as a child, teen and adult it is only the last few years i've hired a car and driven around to see some of the things i'd never been to. This year the highlight was absolutely Lake Banyoles. What a beautiful place. There are little public areas to swim in, as well... More

A friend and I took a Sunday trip by car from Girona to Banyoles and beyond. It was perfect weather, which brought out people everywhere to enjoy the lake, the craft stalls nearby and the restaurants and bars across the road. The location is family-friendly, with plenty of lawn area available for youngsters to run around.

I cycled by Lake Banyoles several times during a 10-day visit to the area. There are several restaurants along the lake with beautiful views and outdoor dining. Also a very nice walking/running pathway around the lake. Water is very clear.

A very pleasant and easy promenade of 8klms around the lake will offer you varied spaces. The forest path on the north side is probably the most enjoyable part , but you will encounter surprises around , such as the so pretty boat houses, or the reproduction of a neolithique village, may be the huge ducks sleeping amongst the reeds,... It is a lake of about 2 cm, it is advisable to visit with good weather and to take a walk. It is located about 35 km from the city of Girona.

It is a must see when you travel to Barcelona, 140 km driving it was worth to see it and enjoy a launch and evening ice cream in beside restaurants. The nearby town is small but beautiful. Rent a bicycle and round a round. It would be a unique experience

As a foreigner and fischerman you have to have Catalan fishing permision first. Can do it online or at tackle shop. I did it in Olot, at Liniapesca Esportiva. Paying only in cash. Great guy, very friendly, limited in speaking english. You pay a little more for his service. But it is like 12e for 2 wks. I tried ultra... More

Very beautiful environment, an area with a big lake and beautiful mountains. The free swimming area was ok, but no locker room and a little bit muddy water. The swimming area at the club was very nice, and there was also a swimming pool on land. Worth the money! We also rented kayaks which was a very good experience.

Nice break during a hot day. The water is nice and refreshing (not too cold). You don't have to pay anything just find the shore that enables you to go in and swim (we followed the crowd ...).

Absolutely our most favourite place in Banyoles! We had two visits here and paid the money to get into the sports centre members area as it was simply heaven! 11 euros per person but 5's and under go free. It's a slice of heaven, cafe on site, toilets (clean!) shallows and a fab diving board off the peer. Waters are... More
