Enjoyed walking over the various bridges, river is quite shallow and many fish can be seen in water. The houses overlooking the river look better in the photos than in real life.

When we booked our tour into the charming city of Girona we noticed the website had this photo of the colorful houses reflected in the river. It made for a memorable and picturesque photo for our album. The Eiffel Bridge spans the river and also...More

This was little more than left over water in a river bed. The ducks were walking the water was so shallow and there was considerable garbage along the shore.

This is so picturesque it looks and feels like Venice. There are plenty of bridges you can cross over and the tourist street La Rambla runs along side of it. The local tourist office is there also.

This is just a small canal with colourfully painted houses on either side, that reminds you of Venice. Makes for a few nice pics on your stroll around the Girona Cathedral area, but not worth making a separate trip for.

We stayed in a hotel just a couple blocks away. It was a beautiful stroll from the hotel to the historic center across the river. I enjoyed taking photos at different times of the day for unique lighting effects.

The views from the bridges must be one of the highlights of any visit to Girona. From Plaça de Catalunya to La Lleona all 5 bridges have great photo opportunities. Only the nearest to Plaça de Catalunya (Pont de Pedra) has vehicular access.

Some interesting scenes with reflections, reminiscent of Venic Grand Canal, but some sections virtually dry

Surprisingly clear water for a river through a city. Its beautiful not really much more to say than that.

I cannot imagine any water sports on this river as the level was so low during our visit but it obviously does fill up during rainy weather. It was however clean. The property beside the river is very colourful and photogenic.
