The title is slightly misleading as the bulk of the collection is really concerned with the antecedents of cinema. There are superb and extensive collections of shadow puppets magic lanterns etc so it really is a museum concerned with how cinema came about. Nevertheless the...More

The disappointment derives from its description. A museum of cinema, with large effigies of 35mm film real sprockets outside and old posters of Valentino displayed, suggests a cornucopia of mementoes of, and nostalgic insights into, the development of modern cinema. What is presented focuses more...More

This museum is really quiet and we spent quite a few hours going round. The collection is mazing and covers from the early Chinese shadow theatre through to the early days of film. Well worth an afternoon.

This museum takes you back to the early days of film, before Cinema as we know it was invented. Only 5 Euros to get in and interactive. Interesting and fun.

A must if visiting Girona. one of the best museums I have visited, well set out and maintained. Lots of interactive features for children and adults. The shadow theatre was excellent.

My wife and I visited this museum one hot sunny day and enjoyed every minute of it. Entry is timed to coincide with introductory videos in different languages which set the scene ('scuse the pun) really nicely. Starting at the top of the building and...More

At only 5euros this is a steal. There are 3 floors of exhibits about the development of photography and film. And it is much more interesting than it sounds with helpful signage and interactive displays. There are a number of excellent videos of early films....More

We have visited this museum with our 3-years and 5-years old girls. They were over the moon with all the things they could touch, move and see. My older one still remember the shadow theatre and the first big cameras :D.

This museum is certainly worth as visit. It gives a nice overview of the history of the cinema from its earliest beginnings. We parents enjoyed it and also our 4 year old son and older daughter. Recommended.
