Highly recommend the walk around the old city walls as it gives fantastic views across Girona and beyond. We started at the North, there are some steep sections and steps but overall it is not too difficult. The view from the roof provides great views...More

A view that’s worth the stairs. Be sure to leave time to walk the entire wall. One of the best things in Girona.

Just an immense overwhelming feeling of history when you get to the top of the stairs and see the view and the wall. I was in awe! I had to walk across to the other side as I was so captured by the view! It...More

You can access this wall by a few starting points. It is a free attraction with amazing views! Find a map at a visitors center or the jewish museum to see the starting and ending points. The actual walk is not that long if your...More

Well preserved city wall. Easy walk took about 20-30 minutes depending on how long you took to look around. For me much better than the Dubrovnik city walls because they were relatively empty. Best to visit in the week rather than weekend.

Visited Girona for the first time in October 18. The city is lovely and the old city walls are a relatively easy walk and offer spectacular views of the city. There are steps at one end so the easiest way round is to start behind...More

I am not hugely fit or mobile but I found the walls were quite easy to negotiate especially if accessed from the path opposite the Arab Baths. The views are amazing.

Walked along the old town city walls. I have to say that some of the access was really steep and a bit challenging unless you were very confident walking. But some great views once you had had a chance to gain some height above the...More

Hi there We actually went from Canet de Mar by train and changed trains at some remote place I can't remember, but then got off in Girona where we walked all over from where we stayed right in the centre. Never used any... More

I would include Besalu. Take the bus from just off the Passeig de Gracia. Take the bus from there to Girona and train back to Barcelona. Very nice day trip.

I agree with the prior answer and would add that there is often live musicians in the ruins/park behind the cathedral. It is slightly uphill from the back of the church. Girona is a world class bicycling City, I would find a... More
