The ride in the funicular is short but the view is superb. It is a great experience to ride in the funicular which has a glass ceiling affording riders the view of Monserrat.

The Sant Joan Funicular starts from Montserrat Station and takes one up to the point from where the Sant Joan's is a 10 min walk. The funicular offers a very unique experience, the track is on an incline of I guess about 45 deg and it is a good idea to get a seat or to be able to stand right... When you go to Montserrat, you really should hike around the mountain trails. That being said, the mountain is quite steep, so it's much nicer to hike *down* than up. The funicular railway is a pretty neat way of getting to the top! The whole trip takes about 10-15 minutes, and the car itself is interesting. Like everything else, the... More

If you in the front of the line, take the bottom car as you will get the best view all the way up and down. Short but incredibly scenic ride.

Easily accessible. Runs every 20 minutes. A great, efficient alternative to walking the trail from Montserrat to Sant Joan.

We were told the first train commenced at 11.15am. The 15 mins ride up was calm and smooth. Scenery of the surrounding landscape are very viewed on the left side of the train (when ascending).
