It's a super place to visit if you like architecture and history. The cathedral is absolutely awe inspiring, even if you're not religious. The little roads/shopping alleys in the centre are packed with little cafes and bars where you can get pulpo al la gallega...More

While following the last part of the Caminho in reverse, we came upon this compact plaza just a few hundred meters from the main square in Santiago. With its statue of Cervantes presiding, it offers a quieter place to sit and catch one's breath during...More

Bars, narrow streets around and an arch make this a busy little plaza. How many plaza's are there in Santiago de Compostela?

This is a good reference plaza. I got confused a few times even with a map. I seamed to end up at this plaza which ever way I had walked. once you understand the streets it becomes easier. Lots of small shops around this area.

Nice square you walk through on the way through the old city to the cathedral. Lots of shops, and small streets going off in various directions. Interesting people watching.

Cervantes never visited Santiago de Compostela but his admirers placed a statue in this square anyhow. There are a variety of little restaurants on this square. Reportedly, this square was where the witches were burned during the Inquisition.

Lots of restaurants, shops, alleyways and just steps away from the cathedral. Plenty of places to have coffee. A relaxing look around Santiago

Good pubs, good restaurants, theaters, hotels, souvenir shops, the cathedral, everything at 5 min walking distance. A place to relax and enjoy Santiago.

I liked The Praza Cervantes because it celebrates this great Spanish writer. His bust is a bit too high up the column to see it well, It is good to be reminded of the immortal Don Quixote.
