Beautiful place with lively atmosphere and lots of cafes and bars/ restaurants. We also walked out of the town to get some great views. Lovely park. New town has great shops.

I did not know how much I would love Galicia, and Santiago de Compostela itself. Beautiful ... exquisite ... charming ... I loved everything about it.

Nice city but difficult to visit on foot, because of many hilly roads. There are many student cafes to have menu meals. Besides, there is the market where they cook the beef or seafood (except fish) you buy for lunch for 5 euros. At night...More

The old town is a super place to walk around. There are lots of old arcades and it’s quite busy but well worth a trip. There are also a few parks dotted around the old city if you need to Rest up.

This area is relatively small and easily walkable. It is chock full of of interesting old churches and buildings as well as cafes, bars, restaurants and touristy shops. The narrow streets and architecture make it easy to imagine how it was hundreds of years ago....More

We went in March so it was fairly quiet - I imagine it would be heaving in the summer months. But it is very beautiful. Small area so quite easily walkable. 2 days should cover most of the main sites.

Great walk around the old town of Santiago with its narrow streets and (mostly) religious history - but there are also lots of bars, cafes and restaurants and, unfortunately, too many tourist tat shops. Easy to stroll around and very little chance of getting lost,...More
