Went here on a spare day in Vigo. It's an excellent exhibition space and the building is great to see, nice renovation. The space has different events on all the time but regardless of what's on I'd check it out purely for the building. It's also centrally located on one of Vigo's main shopping streets.

The building is an old prison adapted to be a contemporary museum, you may have luck and find a nice exhibition. It's worth the visit and it's a good option for a rainy day.

I had a few hours to spare in Vigo so I headed here. I was not disappointed. It was free to get in. I really enjoyed the exhibitions. It's really large inside and an interesting building. There is a really nice art library upstairs with free WiFi, it's a peaceful place to sit and read or do work.

I was not expecting to see such good pieces of modern art. At the end I also bring a book from a past exhibition. And the fact that it's free entrance it's a plus, for a sweet pause in between shopping street.

The building itself is an intriguing piece of architecture with its circle within a circle construction and its central domed, wooden roof. Admission is free. There were two displays on show the day we visited- Maria Luisa Fernandez (1979-1997) a mid career prospective of her sculptures, drawings and installations, mostly done with various off cuts of wood, pallets and picture... This is a beautiful building, and it is just off the main high street as we walked from the cruise ship. Moreover it is free. You can imagine the contemporary nature of the art when we entered the building, as there are chimneys and stuff....strewn around in one corner of the Museum entrance....by an artiste. Well kept and clean. Yet... More

This is a fascinating building. On the outside if you approach it from the front it is an attractive period building that looks to my eye more Portuguese in style than Spanish. When you enter the gallery it is transformed into a set of beautiful, spacious, contemporary areas. The exhibitions were not world class but they were interesting and offered... More

A beautiful building to walk round in so even if the pieces on display don't appeal to you i'm sure the building itself will. When I visited the some of pieces on display appealed to me, some did not, but it was a very enjoyable place to be.
