San Miguel Market is just west of the Plaza Mayor below the C/ Mayor and if walking from the Royal Plalace you'll hit it first. It's a typically ornate Victorian wrought iron and glass walled structure which looks more like a large restaurant than a...More

Had 1€ tapas, great. Many kiosks offering a wide selection of small portions to taste. Good selection of drinks. A must visit when in Madrid.

We were there in the afternoon and the market was really overcrowded :( But you can buy there everything from Spanish cuisine - tapas, wine, sangria, alcohol and more. You have to count with quite high prices.

we went with some workmates after one team meeting. It is very nice, but constantly crowded. Nice food, great wines, lots of food pods to visit and stop by. Fully recommended, but I would not expect to find any available seat.

Great market for a variety of tapas options and drinks. There is a lovely atmosphere and despite what I had been told I find the prices very reasonable!

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street
performers, colorful lights, window shopping,
restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and
churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a
collection of plazas interconnected by a network of
side streets. Some of these side streets are wide
pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so
