Don't miss this on your Madrid trip! The fresco's and tapestries here are magnificent and the sense of grandiose can be felt in every room. This visit gave 2 Australians a sneek peek into Spanish Royalty and we loved it. We got there just before opening on a very cold morning and it was great to not have to queue... More

The Royal Palace of Madrid, although no longer the actual residence of the monarch has a museum that contains much of the original furniture of Charles III in 1768. The sculptures, gold and silver works, tapestries are all beautiful. The paintings by Goya, Velasquez, and Caravaggio rival those in the larger city museums. Even the Royal Armory and Royal Gardens... More

A huge, inspiring building still in use by the Royal Family for state functions. It's an impressive display of what money and power will buy. When we went there were no queues and the visit went at a slow and leisurely pace. Our tour was not guided but headsets are available and if we do this again we will use... More

This palace is still a working palace for entertaining visitors and dignitaries at times and it is absolutely stunning. Very elegant and has a nice bookstore too with memorabalia cause one can't take pictures inside. They have rooms which are absolutely stunning for display. Some days are open free to members of the EU and Latin American countries but one... More

The actual royal palace of Madrid but the royal family does actually live in it. They live in a much more modest palace in the outskirts of Madrid. This place is used for ceremonies and such by the royal family.

The Palace contains so many beautiful objects. The audio guide could be better as we, and many others, found the directions unclear and some rooms were closed. If you are not used to using a Tablet you will find the audio guide difficult to use. Overall worth seeing. Final point - the ladies toilets were not in good condition and... More

The Royal Palace of Madrid (Palacio Real de Madrid) is the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family and it is only used for state ceremonies. Its construction begun in 1738 and ended in 1755. It has a square floor plan with a large central courtyard. It has 2 magnificent gardens: Sabatini Gardens and Campo del Moro Gardens. It comprises... More

Fantastic value for money! 11 euros each - Spent a few hours touring the palace, enjoying views over the city and not crowded at all when we visited in March

Many ornate things to see. It was nice to walk at your own pace. Many tourists though. Just wish they allowed pictures.
