Really beautiful park, its nice to go to the Retiro Park to get space from the crowded/busy city-life. Lots of different areas to explore.

The park is lovely just for the fact that is such a huge green space in the middle of a large city. It is very structured in its layout with everything in order-no meadows or wild areas to enjoy. There's a lake in the centre...More

We spent an hour or so walking round this beautifully laid out park. It offered shade and welcome respite from the incessant traffic noise. The boating lake was well patronised and looked an idyllic way to spend an hour or so. Had we had more...More

This park is a true "highlight", so make sure you visit it when you're in Madrid. Don't miss out the Crystal Palace!

We visited Retiro park on our trip to Madrid and we enjoyed walking around the park, the only downside was that there were no maps in English to be seen anywhere and with the park being so big we didn't know which direction to walk...More

Easily accessible from central Madrid (as well as airport bus), really a great place to take a break from the city.

Between the vast greeneries, listening to talented musicians playing for the public and renting a boat in the lake, this park is definitely a stress reliever. It is enjoyable for families with kids, elder people, couples, friends and even if you're going there solo.

We took a stroll through here on a Sunday afternoon. Heading up the bottom entrance to get a view of the Fallen Angel statue, further on after turning left was the Palacio De Cristal- which is stunning, then on to the beautiful boating lake. Perfect...More

You absolutely cannot swim in the lake. We were there last week and it was 103F every day. We just fell in line with the rest of the Spaniards and around 3 or 4 o'clock went back to the hotel for a nap and some A/C. It... More

Although Madrid is a big city, most sights are within walking distance. I would pick a relatively centrally located hotel and make my around either on foot or taxi. Even if more than half taxi drivers are not fluent in... More
