The parc was full of people, families, schools. Music, runners, a vivid place to walk around or just sit on the lawn enjoying lunch. Crystal Palace was beautiful. When we were there a sound exposition was running. Ice breaking through the boat. It was, well, different.

It's a relaxing place, good food, good music (violins, accordion, or even people singing). The boats are fun

This park was fabulous and relaxing. Lots of venders selling things at good prices. You can rent a boat and row in the lake. Roller blade through the park or just sit and people watch.

Retiro Park is beautiful landmark of Madrid. You can spend an hour by just walking from one end to another. You cal also go and rent a rowing boat, and make a rowing trip in a large pool. There are a few outdoor cafes, when you can get a drink or a snack, but mostly Retiro is just for walking... More

Went on a sunday afternoon, mixing ourselves with locals and tourists. Since we had with us a baby, we decided not to rent the boat, which was probably one of the best attractions at the park.

We were in Madrid just around the New Year. A friend took us for a stroll to the Parque del Retiro on New Year's day. Very relaxing, just the type of outing you need on Sunday afternoons, or the day after a night out. It was a bit chilly, but even so, we wandered in the park for about an... More

Well worth taking a stroll through this stunning park on a beautiful day. We were lucky enough to be there February on a clear sunny warm day. The locals and school children were out in droves enjoying the park. There is a lovely little lake where you can rent a rowing boat, and several cafes that serve excellent food, full... More

A nice park even in winter. Beautiful lake where you can hire boats. Great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and right near the Prado.

Visit on a Sunday and go row a boat. Simple and beautiful. It's free, lots of statues and beautiful views. Sunday has all the Spanish families out and about, wonderful.

Beautiful park and boating lake which was on €6 for 45 mins a boat ! Excellent value. 26 of us spent the afternoon there and we hired the towing boats which was great fun then sat in the cafe bar until the sun went down.
