Don’t doubt it. It’s absolutely worth it. A walk from Plaza de España to Principe Pio, and to step in to the riversides is really nice. You can have a drink in some of the many terraces you find along the river, which ultimately has...More

This is great for local people that are getting out for a run or bike ride. Not necessarily a major tourist attraction but worth a quick visit as you pass through.

I had read that this river front area had been developed and decided to check it out. The river itself has very low water and almost looks like a swamp. However, the parks along both riverbanks are beautiful and great for running, walking, biking, etc....More

this area was pretty rundown but they renovated it and it was well worth it. Do sport, have a beer, sunbathe, etc.

We visited on our first full day in Madrid. The kids loved the water features and we hired a sunbed next to the water jets that the kids could run in to cool down. There was plenty of cyclists and joggers too so it has...More

HUGE park and very well maintained. You go for a very long stroll if you like. We chose to stick to the water spray park - how i like to call it. 3 big areas where fountains and water mist are sprayed from the ground...More

We biked down one side of the river and back up the other. The infrastructure is perfect for biking and walking and they have done a great job with the gardens and greenery. We passed lots of children’s playgrounds too. We wish we stayed closer...More

Assuming you will be staying around downtown, the best option is metro Piramides (Line 5). Go out of the metro station, cross the street and you will be at Madrid Río. Hope you have a great time in beautiful Madrid!

If you walk from the Calderón to the Matadero (Legazpi), I would say the cafe and sunbathing area is just over half way on the north bank.
