Discovered this place just by chance while looking for a "non-touristic" flamenco place. At the moment of writing, shows were only on Fridays and Saturday @23:00. We had a fantastic experience, pure enjoyment and awe. Artists gave their best to entertain the audience. 15€ entrance...More

We went there on recommendation and so glad we did! The music and dance was excellent with locals and a few tourists. Prices are very reasonable, one drink thrown in! Starts late evening and after the show people are still hanging around over drinks.

We were concerned that by waiting till well after dinner we might be late. Well not to worry. To the die hard locals, late is the other side of 4am. The for some in the adjacent table with their gin-soaked brain think that I too...More

We were looking for the authentic, no frills Flamenco and we found it! Candela is a basic back street cafe with a small stage set up with enough room to seat a guitar player, singer, percussionist and dancer. This definetly seems to be an afficionado's...More

Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a
different country ... except it's hard to tell which
one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with
Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in
traditional African clothing convene outside their
businesses for long chats, and people shout to each
other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among
ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and
