Have always had an interest in Flamenco, having seen a great documentary (Flamenco @ 5:15) and loving the dancing, the rhythms and music. Looked at the various tablaos in tripadvisor, and thought they seemed a bit touristy. Saw the huge posters advertising Sara Baras, in...More

Excellent blend of ballet and flamenco. Passion and flair to the performance and at 30 euro a ticket reasonably priced.

I saw "Frankenstein, the Musical" here on August 3rd. Tickets were purchased at the big department store off of Plaza del Sol, and they were running a promotion that evening. Tickets were very cheap for the performance I saw. The theatre was very kept in...More

My husband and I saw a ballet flamenco show ("Carmen") at this theatre and it was a very good show for the value (€15/person, special value for Tuesdays and Wednesdays; other days are about 5 to 10 euros more, depending on your seat). We stayed...More

Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a
different country ... except it's hard to tell which
one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with
Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in
traditional African clothing convene outside their
businesses for long chats, and people shout to each
other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among
ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and
