Long tree lined boulevard in downtown Madrid. Famous museums (Prado, Theysen, Reina Sofia) on either side. Hotels, restaurants all around. Some have small outdoor portions in the middle of the Paseo. Nice to stroll and people watch.

It’s a long stretch of grass and trees that runs along a busy part of the city. There is nothing particularly special but you will likely walk through here on the way to a museum or a history building. Not specifically a place to see...More

Its a lovely walk, a classic treed avenue almost like a park. There are many restaurants at the side of the avenue, and it leads to museums and gardens. Do it!

but not more than this; I wouldn't spend time on it. Instead, go to Retiro park or spend your time in the Prado museum itself.

Again I had been here about 15 years ago and remembered it differently. Not as crowded and I also enjoyed the local artists selling their work outside of the museum. Perhaps I missed the day? The cafe is very crowded and busy and very loud....More

While not very large, the Paseo del Prado is a relatively peaceful park running parallel to the Prado Museum. It does have some fountains and places to relax. However, the street can get busy and if you're truly looking to escape the urban scene walk...More

We walked from the train station to our hotel near Puerto del Sol. We had debated on taking a taxi, but opted to walk and were so glad that we did. It was lovely. So many important locations on this street, lots of places to...More
