Called the Madrid Arab Wall, it was built in the 9th century, during the Muslim domination of the Iberian Peninsula, There is only a small section left but worth the time to see something from so far back in history. If you walk south from...More

This is right near the palace. And the big church. The walls look really old. I’m not sure how old but I am guessing real old. They are very cool to look at and it doesn’t take very long.

This wall looks like a building site when you look across the road from the crypt which itself is a must see in Madrid. Don't make a special trip.

It is very small part of an old wall, right across from the crypt entry of almudena cathedral, I just founded by accident as I was walking around. I wouldn't do a special visit but I would stop by when I visit the crypt.

If you are looking for medieval history in Madrid, this is the only place you will find it. Before researching our trip, I did not realize how young, relative to Spain and Europe, Madrid was. Its only real medieval history was as a Moorish outpost...More

Located next to the Cathedral de Santa Maria de la Almudena, the Arab Wall is a remnant of Madrid's Moorish past when it was an actual defensive wall around the city. Sadly only parts of the wall remain and are not well maintained. The area...More

It's amazing and a bit ironic that the Arab wall is madrid's oldest remains from around 900AD. This is a huge wall that's impressively built. The park has several explanations about the history behind the wall. Please don't skip this historic site. It's a must...More
