We were staying in Madrid in September, and visited the Plaza, what a wonderful find! The little stalls serving food were mostly all very good, and extremely reasonable. If you are traveling here, and have a place to cook, I highly recommend getting your supplies...More

The Plaza de la Cebada is one of the main plazas of the Barrio de la Latina. There is a very large market here with a large parking lot beneath it. Close to it is where they hold the weekly rastro flea market on Sundays.

The place where the young people meet, a lot of concerts, basketball games, kids with skateboards, urban graffitis, quite a delightful view.

The typical La Cebada area proposes many different terraces and restaurants, tapas bars, cafés. It is always full of people, mainly on the weekends. Sunny square. Nice usual tapas at good price and quick service on simple stanless steel tables.

Found this market on the last day of our trip. It's a much more traditional market selling a variety of produce. more what we were looking for rather than the tourist hyped mercado San Miguel

characterized by a young population and a bohemian
vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection
